The Gods Have Been Frowning on our Voyage
The gods have been frowning on our voyage. Zeus sent thunderbolts and wind to destroy St. Maarten. Poseidon pulled the propeller off my boat. Triton poked a hole in my dinghy (causing first a water leak, then an air leak. Mammon (the god of money) wanted to charge me a ridiculous price for a replacement prop.
I sought out wisdom from Delphi (in this case Tom Sandison and his diver friend Joe Schwartzfisher)
The words from the gods are good today. We dove and found the prop. The mainsail is ready to go back on the boat. The dinghy leaks are fixed. The canvas repairs are all done. We found a place to leave our boat in Guadeloupe (at a good price). Surely the portents have changed and we may depart under fair skies & favorable winds. Fear not!
