The captain was up at 6:00 but it had rained a lot during the night and it was too dark and foggy to see until 7:00. By then we were all up. Don had walked into the town bakery but it didn't open until 7:30. He felt this was a faux pas so severe that he could report it to the National Bakery Association.
We had a picture perfect day, all day. Not as much foliage color as we had hoped for, but certainly warmer temps than expected. We saw a lot of blue herons and various ducks.
We reached Fairport bridge at 16:30 where Nancy was waiting. We got off and had ice cream with her. We were docked in an illegal spot so we had to take off.
We did 11 lift bridges and two locks and are starting to feel competent. We went on to Lock 30 and anchored on the canal just this side of it. - Deb
